Candidates must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The ideal candidate should have clinical experience and a job history exhibiting stability and longevity.
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive:
- Serve as a patient advocate during patient exams and treatment.
- Recording medical history and confirming the purpose of the visit.
- Ensure proper documentation is obtained prior to preparing the patient for treatment.
- Prepares patients for examination.
- Help providers examine and treat patients. Many hands-on elements such as blood draws, injections, wound care, and assisting during procedures are a requirement for this position.
- HIPAA compliance and safe OSHA practices
- Maintain accurate electronic charts in EHR
- Patient Education
- Returning patient phone calls
- Under provider direction, authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies
- Collecting, documenting, and delivering lab specimens
Medical Assistant/ Nurse Skills and Qualifications:
